11/13/2025 - News Update

 The Town of Moraga awarded FJ&I Engineering a contract to repair a section of storm drain as part of the Augusta Drive Storm Drain Repairs. Construction is expected to begin on Monday, November 17, 2025. This project is located on Augusta Drive and St. Andrews Dr., Moraga, CA 94556. Work consists of roadway excavation, storm drain repairs, and asphalt restoration.

Work on Augusta Drive is expected to take place from November 17, 2025, to December 10, 2025, barring unforeseen conditions and/or adverse weather. Regular working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays. Parking may be limited during working hours, and "No Parking" signs will be placed 72 hours in advance of the scheduled work.

10/27/2025 - News Update

During the design phase, Town staff identified a 21-inch reinforced concrete storm drain near 1714 St. Andrews Drive that needs repairs.  Following the evaluation, staff recommended replacing approximately 100 feet of the pipe and proposed using a flexible pipe of comparable size to avoid potential delays caused by the long lead times for reinforced concrete pipe. To stabilize the site, water barriers were installed to protect the pipe from the effects of traffic loads.

Town staff developed bid documents and advertised the project for bids on October 15, 2025, and we anticipate awarding the construction contract at our Town Council meeting on November 12, 2025. Our priority is to complete these repairs before the winter storms arrive.

Construction of the 2025 Paving Project will be postponed to spring 2026 and may be further delayed until summer 2026, depending on weather conditions or unforeseen impacts.

2025 Street Rehabilitation Project Background  

We are pleased to inform you that the Town Council approved the 2025 Pavement Management Program at the council meeting on April 9, 2025. As part of this plan, Town staff have recommended a preliminary street list for the 2025 Street Rehabilitation Project, which is included in the table below.  The street design treatments will include milling off old pavements and overlaying with new pavement (Mill and Overlay), crack sealing, and base failure repairs. The preliminary list of streets in the table below is subject to change during the project design and bid phases without notice, for various reasons, including but not limited to underground and utility conflicts, budget constraints, and construction bid proposals. The final list will be made available when the Town Council awards the construction contract.

To move forward, staff will:

1. Conduct further analysis on the listed streets to validate the proposed treatment.

2. Coordinate with utility companies to identify any potential utility conflicts.

3. Prepare a set of project plans and a cost estimate for bid posting.

4. Hire a construction contractor to commence the paving work.

The construction document process is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, with possible construction bidding and construction in the spring of 2026.
