On July 27, 2012, the Moraga Town Council voted unanimously (of members present) to place a local, Town of Moraga one cent general purpose sales tax measure on the November 2012 ballot, which voters approved. Every resident who spoke, including local business owners and community leaders, expressed support for placing the Measure on the ballot and urged the Council to use the funds to begin fixing Moraga’s streets and roads. As a local Measure, all funds would be just for the Town of Moraga and could not be taken by the State.
