Carter and Arroyo Reservoir Rehabilitation Project

The East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) is undertaking the Carter and Arroyo Reservoirs Improvement Project, a significant initiative aimed at enhancing water quality, updating aging infrastructure, and improving the reliability of water service in EBMUD’s Carter Pressure Zone in Moraga. This project, which involves rehabilitating the Carter Reservoir and replacing the existing Arroyo Reservoir with two new tanks, will bring several benefits to the community, including improved water quality, increased water supply reliability, and a more robust water infrastructure.

EBMUD has been in communication with the Sanders Ranch HOA, the Town of Moraga, and the Moraga‑Orinda Fire District (MOFD). A joint community meeting, hosted at Sanders Ranch, is planned for the coming months. This meeting will provide a platform for residents to learn more about the project, ask questions, and share their concerns. More details about the meeting, including the date, time, and agenda, will be shared by EBMUD in advance.
