Lisa Maglio
Biography
Family
Lisa relocated to Moraga in 1992 to start her family. Her daughter, Callie, attended the local public schools and actively participated in the many community activities available. Lisa has always considered Moraga an ideal place to raise her daughter, particularly as a single parent. Grateful for the support she’s received from the community, Lisa has given back over the years by volunteering in the schools and serving on various boards and commissions in Moraga.
Career
Lisa spent most of her career as a public contract attorney. She began her practice in Washington D.C., as an Honor Attorney for the United States Postal Service. She then served as a federal Law Clerk to the Hon. James F. Merow at the United States Court of Federal Claims. After her clerkship, she joined Seyfarth Shaw, LLP and then Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP, in Los Angeles, continuing work as a public contract counsel and litigator. Lisa moved to San Francisco to become a Deputy City Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco and served as public contract counsel to various city departments, including the Department of Public Works, School District, Human Rights Commission, and the Board of Supervisors. Before retiring, Lisa was a Senior Assistant to the Dean of the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University.
Education
Lisa has a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Education from Duquesne University. She earned her law degree from Antioch School of Law, Washington, D.C.
Other Involvement
In addition to serving the Moraga schools as a PTA president, Lisa’s proudly served the Town on the Moraga Design Review Board, the Moraga Planning Commission, the Moraga Park Foundation, and she recently served as vice president of the Moraga Community Foundation.
Appointment
Lisa was appointed to the Moraga Town Council in 2024.
