Biography

Personal Life

Steve and wife Peggy have called Moraga home since 1987. Daughters, Sarah and Leanne, attended and graduated from Moraga’s excellent K-12 schools. Steve and Peggy have been active in the community, both through participating and volunteering in a broad range of school, scout, sports and other town activities.

Employment

During Steve’s 33-year career with Chevron, he successfully handled a wide range of challenging and complex assignments. They included technical, project management, and later in his career, organization development (including mentoring). He trained in making quality decisions, he practiced making quality decisions, and then he built organization competency in decision making, including a five-year worldwide leadership position.

Education

He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Seton Hall University. He is a retired licensed Mechanical Engineer and was a Certified Project Management Professional.

Other Involvements

Steve’s 20 years plus of Moraga’s volunteer public service includes:

  • Design Review Board - 5 years
  • Hacienda Foundation Board of Directors - 5 years
  • Planning Commission - 10 years

Each of these organizations has significant positive impact supporting the Town of Moraga. Steve led each of these organizations and values the opportunity to have worked collaboratively with the other volunteer members and town staff.

Steve is a proud long-term member and past President of the Kiwanis Club of Moraga Valley.

Appointment

Steve was elected to the Town Council in 2018 and re-elected in 2022 for another 4-year term ending 2026.
