Moraga Center Specific Plan Implementation Project
The purpose of the Moraga Center Specific Plan (MCSP) Implementation Project is to develop code amendments, policies and design standards to more effectively implement the adopted Specific Plan, address potential inconsistencies between the Municipal Code and the Specific Plan, and avoid ambiguities and uncertainty in implementing Specific Plan policies.

Sign Ordinance Update
The Town Council recently amended several sections of Chapter 8.88 – Signs of the Moraga Municipal Code in order to simplify and streamline the approval process for certain types of signs, allow for new master sign programs to include greater variation from the standards currently prescribed by Chapter 8.88; and amend certain standards and regulations for new commercial signage including wall signs, monument signs and portable signs. This effort was undertaken to address one of the Town Council’s annual Community Goals for 2019/2020 to help make the Town more business-friendly.

Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Ordinance Update
In October 2019 Governor Newsom signed new legislation for Accessory Dwelling Units, which went into effect on January 1, 2020. The Planning Department is working on updates to its Accessory Dwelling Unit regulations to address these recent changes in State law.

Wireless Communications Facilities Updates
On April 24, 2019 The Town Council adopted Ordinance 282 amending Moraga Municipal Code Chapter 8.144 establishing development standards, procedures, and aesthetic criteria for the development of small cell wireless facilities within public rights-of-way in the Town, in compliance with the Carr Order issued by the Federal Communications Commission.
