Two Engineering Positions Now Open – April 2019

The Engineering Department has openings for an Associate Civil Engineer and an Engineering Intern.

Associate Civil Engineer: The position will focus mainly on land development projects but offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse array of other assignments, including Town capital projects, transportation planning and traffic engineering, and construction and maintenance of public infrastructure. The ideal candidate will also have extensive work experience and knowledge in asset management of storm drain systems using GIS. The Associate Civil Engineer position will provide essential input to the small but dedicated staff team in a community-focused organization that values initiative, energy, and a willingness to work across disciplines and departments to ensure quality service and development that respects and enhances Moraga’s unique community, conditions, and character. Engineering Intern: The position performs a wide variety of tasks in the field and/or office, with extensive focus on importing plans into digital format. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge of basic research; analysis and statistical methods; have the ability to effectively work with others; and utilize the Microsoft software suite proficiently. Experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD are highly desirable. The ability to lift and manually transport field survey and inspection equipment and work in a variety of weather conditions is also required. The Engineering Intern will assist with reviewing, adding, and updating information on the Town’s Geographic Information System (GIS) as it relates to the storm drain system, including storm drain easement research and inventory and gathering storm drain infrastructure data in the field.
