Town Council Recognizes Moraga Police Volunteers

October 26, 2011 was proclaimed “Moraga Police Reserve Officers’ Day” by the Mayor and Town Council.  The proclamation recognized four Moraga Police Department Reserve Officers for a combined total of 100 years of volunteer service to the Town. Reserve Police Officers Ben Ho (29 yrs), Greg Haskell (25 yrs), Jack Lucas (25 yrs), and Darrell Lee (21 yrs) were honored with a standing ovation from the audience for their thousands of hours of volunteer service to support MPD and to keep our Town safe. After the Reserve Officers were honored, volunteer Community Service Officer Thomas Smith was introduced to the Town Council and given the oath of office by the Town Clerk. Smith has been volunteering 15 hours weekly to MPD, performing a variety of support services. Smith is a graduate of the Napa Valley Police Academy and is in process to become a Police Reserve.
