Town Of Moraga

Streetlight Conversion to LED

G&E is in the process of converting PG&E-owned streetlights from high pressure sodium vapor (HPSV) to energy efficient light emitting diodes (LED). Since PG&E will be completing their own streetlight project, the Town wants the Town-owned streetlights converted at the same time to minimize public inconvenience. To proceed with Town-owned streetlight conversions, the Council authorized the Town to enter into an agreement with PG&E and approved necessary funding. The Town estimates saving 36,516 kWh/year with annual energy cost savings of $5,208; reducing CO2 emissions by 19,134 lbs/year, and avoiding maintenance expenses of $826/year.
