Stormwater Fee Report Storm Drain Funding

The Town Council reviewed the consultant-prepared Stormwater Fee Report (SFR). The SFR developed a fee structure to fund three categories of stormwater facility work: 1) Rehabilitation of aging storm drain infrastructure; 2) Maintenance program to protect existing pipes and culverts from failure; and 3) State and Federal required water quality measures. Fees would be assessed to each property owner based on a calculated stormwater system impact from their properties.

The Town Council directed staff to compile additional information for their review at the upcoming January 24 meeting. If the Town Council formally approves the Stormwater Fee, the Town would schedule public meetings and hearings to provide information and an opportunity for public comment. These hearings would be followed by a vote-by-mail ballot by affected property owners.
