Stormwater Fee Ballots Mailed Out

Stormwater fee ballots were mailed today and should arrive in the next few days. This is being done in response to the community priority surveys (August 2016 and October 2017). Survey results expressed that Moraga homeowners were interested in a local funding option for the following stormwater priorities:

1. Address deteriorating pipes, infrastructure, and sinkholes;
2. Protect drinking water sources from pollutants; and
3. Prevent local flooding due to insufficient capacity or condition.

An average home in Moraga would be assessed $120 annually (or $10 per month), with rates varying for other property types. An updated Frequently Asked Question document has been posted on the Town’s Storm Drain Funding webpage to guide property owners on the Moraga Stormwater Fee Measure, which follows the voter-approved Proposition 218 property-related fee ballot procedure. Ballots are due by 5:00 p.m. on May 15, 2018.
