Rubberized Pavement Grant Augments Paving Budget

The Town of Moraga has applied for a Rubberized Pavement Grant from the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery that incorporates old tires into the Town’s rubberized cape seal paving program. If awarded, the Town will leverage a portion of upcoming Measure K funds to apply rubberized cape seal treatments over various streets. The Town uses a pavement management program called StreetSaver to objectively identify potential street segments that are appropriate for rubberized cape seals. The finalized list of streets will be determined during the design phase of the project. Paving is expected to start in the summer 2013 construction season.
