Rain, Rain, Rain!
Moraga tends to get some of the greatest precipitation amounts in all of Contra Costa County, and this year has been no exception. The County-operated rain gauge indicates that Moraga has received over 50 inches since July 1, with almost 35 inches in the first two months of 2017 alone. These staggering amounts far exceed Moraga’s yearly average of 28.15 inches. The heavy rains have caused mudslides, downed trees, and localized flooding, and have had a negative impact on construction schedules throughout Town, including the re-opening of Rheem Boulevard.
