Town Of Moraga

Plan Bay Area Adopted

On July 18, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) Executive Board jointly approved the final Plan Bay Area, which is the long-range land use and transportation plan for the nine county Bay Area region, including Contra Costa County and the Town of Moraga. Among the Plan components affecting Moraga is the final Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA), which provides for 229 residential units at various income levels. The number represents a significant reduction from the Town’s previous RHNA allocation of 307 residential units. The Town’s Housing Element, to be updated by August 2014, will need to show how this number can be accommodated through zoning and other regulatory tools.
