Town Of Moraga

Neighborhood Disaster Radio Loan Program

To enhance the Town’s response to a major disaster, a new program is being tested to provide portable radios to local neighborhood leaders willing to accept the responsibility to report the status of their neighborhood to the Town’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in a disaster. To qualify for the radio loan program, a person must be a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), have their neighborhood coordinated through the Moraga Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness (MNEP) group, receive training and participate in quarterly radio tests, and assume responsibility for the portable radio. Anyone interested in participating in this program should contact Dennis Rein, the Lamorinda Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at drein@MOFD.org.
