Measure K 3-Year Pavement Program Wins Project of the Year!

The Northern California chapter of the American Public Works Association has selected the Town’s three-year intensive pavement program as Project of the Year for Small Cities/Rural Communities in the category of Environment. The incorporation of recycled rubber into all three projects with funding assistance from CalRecycle has diverted 50,300 old tires from landfills. Rubberized asphalt performs twice as long as conventional asphalt, retards reflective cracking, provides better traction and skid resistance, dampens vehicular traffic sound, and retains its darker color longer.
