Emergency Preparedness Process

The Town Council has directed staff to make emergency preparedness a high priority. In response, staff has worked closely with the Lamorinda Emergency Preparedness Coordinator and has made consistent progress in getting required training, creating a new Emergency Plan, reorganizing and promoting the Citizen Corps Council, transferring CERT management to the Moraga-Orinda Fire District, designating a new location for a field operations center, and acquiring new equipment and radios. In a serious emergency, communication between citizens and responders will be critical. The Town has created a Nixle account to disseminate information in real time with only 603 registered users.
