Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Needs You

In Lamorinda, more than 450 citizens have taken CERT Emergency Preparedness Training and are ready to take care of their families and neighbors during and after a disaster. Join them and get prepared! The CERT training is a 24 hour Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) course typically delivered over a seven-week period. The training includes hands-on drills and a disaster simulation where participants practice and demonstrate skills they learned in class. Classes are held at several venues in all three communities on different weekday evenings. Go to www.lamorindacert.org to register for classes, view the content of the classes and find community events for CERT. The next class begins in April and will be held at the Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church in Orinda. The September class will be at the Orinda Library Garden Room.
