Town Of Moraga

Canyon Road Bridge Project Acceptance

Following the Canyon Road Bridge closure in April 2017 due to landslide damage, the Town qualified for $2.5 million in Federal Highway Administration emergency funding for eligible expenditures to remove the damaged bridge, build bridge abutments, roadway transitions, traffic light system and lease a one-lane bridge. On November 22, 2017, the bridge was reopened and, on January 24, 2018, the Town Council accepted the bridge removal and bridge installation construction contracts as completed. The Town does not expect reimbursement until the Federal government replenishes the State’s emergency budget which may take years.
