Behind the Orange Curtain

On November 9 in Moraga and November 11 in Orinda, the CAIFF showed a documentary film titled Behind the Orange Curtain which chronicled the epidemic of prescription drug abuse (primarily OxyContin) in Orange County. In a compelling montage of testimony from drug abusers, families of abusers, and public officials, a clear picture of the gravity of the problem nationwide was created. After the two showings, brief reactions to the film were presented by three Contra Costa County residents followed by a Q and A session for film viewers. Moraga’s Police Chief Bob Priebe, April Rovero of the National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse, and Moraga resident Mark Bellingham spoke about the shocking and sobering impact of prescription drug abuse in their personal and professional lives.
